The kit comes with blue crisp tortilla shells that are packed with an insert to help from getting broken. I've gotten 2-3 of these through a local store, and inevitably, there is at least one if not two shells broken. They are really split long ways, so I just make a sandwich out of those shells, or just break them up and eat them as chips. They seem "fresh" compared to some other national brands that I've gotten in the stores that seem stale.
The salsa has a nice flavor - not chunky - not that spicy either. My husband is usually pretty picky, and even he enjoys putting this on his tacos (along with chalula (sp?) sauce).
We cook the meat with the seasoning provided, and it takes fine - I maybe slightly prefer another packet that I get in the store, but I'm ok with this one too.
I've had this brand's blue torilla chips and loved them - so I was hoping this kit would be great too. In the stores (got mine at Kroger), I think its reasonably priced even compared to non-organic national brands.
I recommend you at least try them - I know I will continue to get them.
