(More customer reviews)Although the book starts out with an excellent premise, it fizzles out by the end. Jackson Hayes, the "hero" of this story trips over a bum on the way to meet his brother. The Hayes men, born with a silver spoon in their mouths bet $50,000 on whether Jackson can spend a week as a bum without any help.
Jackson's brother sets a private detective on him to keep him safe -- bet already broken as Jackson gets help within the first 24 hours from the detective.
After meeting the heroine, Jackson quickly falls in love, and the story is still going along well UNTIL, the heroine's best friend recognizes our hero. Less than a week after the start of the bet, Jackson is back home again with the love of his life. Throw in a fast new man for the heroine's best friend and this is supposedly Jackson's new world.
Throw in some fast sex scenes to make this a romance and then fast-forward to a year later. Same old Jackson, trips over the same bum, thinks that by giving him $20, he has done what he should and back in the same bar, another $50,000 bet between the brothers. Nothing learned. A waste of $0.99.
